1. Logic Express 7 is installed on your computer and you are (somewhat) familiar with its use.
2. You have installed onto your computer the driver for the XV-2020. The driver is not required for Mac OS X.1.x, but it is required for Mac OS X.2 and above. The driver should be on the CD that came with the XV-2020 synth; it is also available as a free download from the Roland website.
3. You have connected cabling as in the wiring diagram.

Caution: Shut down and power off all equipment before installing or changing cabling.
